Bottom Navigation Bar
The Bottom Navigation Bar in Damus has a similar UI design to Twitter, but with slightly smaller icon sizes and some variations in appearance.
Post Content Layout
The layout of the post content in Damus is familiar to users of Twitter. The top left displays the avatar, and on the right vertically, the user’s name, account, and post time are shown. The content is followed by the CTA icons for commenting, reposting, liking, and sharing.
Home Page
The Damus home page displays posts and replies of users and the official Damus account. All other users’ posts can be found on the “Global” page, accessible through the “Search” icon. On Twitter, the home page displays either “For You” or “Following” posts.
Posts (Content)
Damus is a new and less restrictive app (at least now) with a wide range of content. Nearly anything can be posted, including adult content, etc. This makes it a platform for no-limitation speech. Twitter has content guidelines, but recent actions by its management have been seen as unreasonable, which has contributed to the popularity of apps like Damus and Mastodon.
